What service does Education Exchange provide?
Education Exchange is a resource for hospitals, academic centers, and
professional associations that conduct grand rounds and other education
forums. Education Exchange can provide nationally recognized experts in
various areas of medicine to lecture at your institution. Education Exchange
faculty deliver high-quality, cutting-edge presentations that have been
developed by world-renowned opinion leaders. Our services are provided
FREE OF CHARGE to host institutions. Our customer service staff
of Continuing Education Planners provides seamless coordination of all
organizational logistics, including:
- Scheduling of faculty
(honorarium and travel expenses provided)
- Providing a list of
speakers for you to choose from
- Coordinating faculty
schedules with your institution's program schedule
- Accreditation of lecture
(if you choose)
- Processing of CME certificates
(if you choose)
- Provision of lecture
folders and materials, including speaker bios and evaluations
- Provision of flyers
and posters for recruitment of attendees

How much does Education Exchange's service cost?
Education Exchange provides its services to you FREE OF CHARGE. All
services and expenses are supported by unrestricted educational grants
from the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

Is Education Exchange an accredited CME provider?
Education Exchange is a service provided by the Academy for Healthcare Education
(Academy), a division of The Impact Group. The Academy is an accredited provider
of continuing medical education and continuing pharmaceutical education. In
2002, the Academy received reaccreditation with commendation for 6 years from
the ACCME. Standard reapproval for CME providers is 4 years. As a nationally
accredited provider of CME, we can provide the CME credits to participants
or your institution can provide the credits.

Can my institution be the CME provider?
Your institution can be the CME provider for the lecture and offer the CME
certificates to participants. If you prefer, as a nationally accredited provider
of CME, we can provide the CME certificates.

Who provides the honoraria to the faculty?
Our unrestricted educational grants cover costs of faculty honoraria and travel
expenses. Education Exchange can provide these payments directly to the faculty
to minimize your paperwork. If your institution is the CME provider and would
prefer to distribute these payments, we can provide to you a check made payable
to the faculty member or to your institution.

How do I schedule a lecture with Education Exchange?
Education Exchange minimizes the paperwork required to schedule a lecture.
We provide our Request a Lecture form that you can complete on-line. Upon
receipt of your request form, a Continuing Education Planner will contact
you via your preference of phone, fax, or e-mail to schedule the lecture.

Who are the faculty members of Education Exchange's lectures?
Our medical staff create criteria that potential faculty must meet to be selected.
We use our needs assessment results and other sources to find specialty thought
leaders and content experts to be potential lecture chairs and faculty. We
prepare our faculty members via a faculty development process that includes
review of the CME curriculum and/or speaker-skills workshops.

As the host of the lecture, what will my institution need to do?
To ensure a successful educational experience for participants, Education
Exchange asks host institutions to:
- Recruit attendees using
Education Exchange supplied flyers, posters, and other internal methods
- Arrange appropriate
lecture rooms
- Arrange audiovisual
equipment
- Greet the speaker the
day of the lecture
- Distribute lecture
folders and materials to attendees and faculty
- After the lecture,
collect and return the participant sign-in sheets and evaluation forms to

How accessible is Education Exchange's customer service?
Education Exchange has a trained customer service staff of Continuing
Education Planners who are available to serve you Monday through Friday,

and evaluation forms

How does Education Exchange choose topics and develop content?
As a nationally accredited provider of CME, all of our lectures are based
on researched needs assessments that include literature reviews, surveys,
and/or interviews with target audience members and experts. We select specialty
thought leaders and content experts to serve as program chairs. Our medical
staff works with these chairpeople to create the program content. The resulting
curriculum is then reviewed by practicing physician consultants for objectivity
and relevance.
